Winter Storm Warning in effect into the morning across portions of western Maryland...the eastern West Virginia Panhandle including the western Potomac Highlands...and the northern Shenandoah Valley. Light to moderate rain and freezing rain will continue into the early morning hours. Temperatures will remain in the lower 30s in most locales. Icy slick spots are likely on untreated surfaces...roads..sidewalks...bridges and overpasses. Additional light accumulation up to a few hundredths of an inch is expected through 6 am. Also...patchy fog may reduce visibility below three miles at times over the next few hours.

morning...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 am EST this
morning.

Freezing rain will changeover to plain rain from southeast to
northwest through mid morning as temperatures gradually rise above
the freezing mark.

Some additional accumulation of ice is likely this morning before
the changeover to rain occurs. Total ice accumulations around a
quarter of an inch can be expected... especially over elevations
above 1000 feet.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of ice are
expected or occurring. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.
