Ice Storm Warning
Issued by the National Weather Service at 7:59 am EST on January 7, 2009

... Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am EST this
morning...

An Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am EST this
morning.

Freezing rain fell during the night... and ice accumulated on
untreated roads and walkways... as well as on trees and power
lines.

Temperatures were in the lower 30s this morning. The freezing
rain is expected to continue into the morning commute.
Temperatures are then forecast to begin rising above 32 degrees...
and the freezing rain should gradually change to rain by late
morning. However... some pockets of cold air may linger into the
early afternoon in the Pocono region and in Sussex County... New
Jersey.

By the time the freezing rain ends... some locations could pick
up a quarter to a half inch ice accumulation.

Travel conditions will continue to be hazardous this morning. Ice
will remain on untreated roads and walkways until the temperature
rises above the freezing mark. Be especially cautious on bridges
and overpasses.

The ice may bring down tree limbs and power lines... possibly
causing power outages.
