Detailed History and Climate

Areal Flood Watch
Issued by the National Weather Service at 3:28 am EST on March 11, 2010

... Flood Watch remains in effect from this evening through Sunday
evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east central Ohio... Pennsylvania and West
Virginia... including the following areas... in east central
Ohio... Belmont... Columbiana... Jefferson OH and Monroe. In
Pennsylvania... Allegheny... Armstrong... Beaver... Butler...
Clarion... Forest... Greene... Jefferson PA... Lawrence... Mercer...
Venango and Washington. In West Virginia... Brooke... Hancock...
Marion... Marshall... Monongalia... Ohio and Wetzel.

* From this evening through Sunday evening

* the National Weather Service continues to advise that small
streams now swollen from the continued snow melt may begin to
flood starting tonight. Periods of rain tonight into Sunday...
and in particular potentially widespread heavier rain Saturday...
will further increase the risk of flooding for small streams as
well as for points along the Monongahela... Allegheny... Beaver
and upper Ohio rivers and their tributaries.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts of snow melt and rainfall.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
